Salt Lake City International Airport

Utah’s one and only airport is located on the west side of the capital Salt Lake City. More than 21 million passengers fly into Salt Lake each year, primarily on Delta, which uses the airport as one of its main western hubs. Other airlines at the airport include Alaska Airlines, American, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and US Airways. The main route runs to Denver, followed by Phoenix, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

There are two passenger terminals at the Utah airport, each with a full range of eateries and shops. From fast food and coffee shops to newsstands and gift shops, Salt Lake’s airport has a nice variety of passenger amenities. It also boasts free Wi-Fi internet throughout the terminal, full banking services, a Delta SkyClub lounge, and business center facilities.

Ground transportation is handled by taxis that wait out front of both terminals’ exits, limousines, and shared shuttle vans. Many area hotels offer free pick ups for their guests, so inquire ahead of time and schedule a pick up. Public city buses run into downtown Salt Lake City, and there are 10 major car rental companies on site at the terminal including Avis, Enterprise, and Hertz. The airport is located directly off of Interstate 80 for easy driving into the city and regional destinations.

St George Municipal Airport

The newest airport to service Utah is located just outside the city of St George in the far southwestern corner of the state. Opened in 2011, this small airport handles just two flights. One goes to Salt Lake City on SkyWest Airlines and the other goes to Los Angeles on SkyWest Airlines. Due to the small size of the airport there are literally no services for passengers inside the terminal. Transport from the airport is handled by two companies, shuttle vans, and four car hire firms. The airport is located within easy distance of Interstate 15, the main north-south highway in this part of Utah.
