If you are in the market for some Western wear then there’s no better place than Texas. All of the classics, including cowboy boots, hats, shirts, and skirts are made with the highest quality and by the most respected brands in the genre. Dallas is the best city for Western apparel, so head for a specialty shop to really find what you crave. For boots, you can’t beat Boot Town, Cavender’s Boot City, Wild Bill’s, or the Western Warehouse. You’ll get exactly what you want and a perfectly-sized boot. Western Warehouse and Wild Bill’s are also great for other cowboy items like clothing, belts, and hats. Next to Dallas in Fort Worth, the Stockyards National Historic District is packed with excellent Western retailers as well.

Dallas is the shopping hub of Texas, boasting some amazing malls like NorthPark Center, Highland Park Village, and The Galleria. To the south of downtown Dallas is one of America’s largest Farmers’ Markets, spread over 12 acres and open every single day. Dallas is also the home of the original (and best) Neiman Marcus department store, a favorite among well-heeled shoppers in The Big D.

Houston is a city defined by its shopping malls, with the massive downtown Galleria and its neighbor the Center at Post Oak real standouts. Houston’s outlet mall Katy Mills is another treasure chest, featuring more than 200 brand name retailers with huge discounts. It’s about 25 miles outside of the city, but for many the drive is worth the savings. Houston’s downtown has plenty of street side shopping where the stores are most eclectic. Vintage gear shoppers can try Westheimer or Montrose, while upscale brands wait in the Kirby District.
