Yellowknife Airport

No other airport in any of Canada’s three territories can match the size of Yellowknife Airport, whose central location has made it a major hub for northern Canada. Although the airport can currently only handle smaller aircraft seating up to 15 passengers, it nonetheless offers non-stop Air Canada Express flights to Calgary, Canadian North flights to Ottawa, and First Air seasonal flights to Vancouver. Four different airlines provide non-stop service to Edmonton, but Yellowknife Airport also offers direct flights to all other major Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut communities. The Aboriginal Sports Circle supplies wireless High Speed Internet to Yellowknife Airport’s newly expanded terminal, which has doubled in size since 2008.

Transportation options between Yellowknife and its airport, less than a mile away, include car rental from Budget and Hertz, City Cab services, and complimentary shuttle service from four local hotels. All of the above typically take no more than 10 minutes to travel the brief distance between the airport and Yellowknife.
