Pohnpei International Airport

This small airport is the main gateway to the largest island belonging to the Federated States of Micronesia. Pohnpei International Airport’s location on the smaller island of Deketik lies just over a mile north of Kolonia and an equally brief distance from Palikir, the Federated States of Micronesia capital. The only flights which presently travel across this airport’s newly extended runway are the United Airlines ‘Island Hopper’ flights which travel regularly between Honolulu, Guam, Chuuk, and Pohnpei. Passengers must fly from Guam to reach the island of Yap by air. Duty free shopping is among the airport’s few amenities.

Budget is among the car rental kiosks represented at Pohnpei International Airport. Taxis are the only public transportation option between the airport and the rest of Pohnpei.
