Addis Ababa Bole International Airport

Bole International Airport is one of the busiest air hubs in Africa, recieving an excess of four million passengers each year. It is the chief gateway into Ethiopia and is also the home of flagship carrier, Ethiopian Airlines. In addition to its regular flights, the airport offers regional and domestic charters via premier airlines, while also maintaining a pilot training center.

Major airlines serve the airport including KLM, Lufthansa, and British Airways, along with major North African national airlines. Ethiopian Airlines offers the most direct connections to major destinations like Hong Kong, Beijing and Delhi in Asia, as well as European cities like Brussels, Rome, Stockholm and Paris. Direct flights to the US are also available through Washington-Dulles Airport.

Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is located 5 miles southeast of the city center. It has two passenger terminals, one of which is dedicated to long-haul flights. Each has convenient facilities like currency exchange and ATMs to cater to the needs and the comfort of travelers. The customer service desk is found in the departures and check-in area of Terminal 2. There is WiFi access throughout the terminal, as well as an internet café in the departures area.

Business lounges for quick meetings are provided by Cloud Nine and Ethiopian Airlines. There are cafés and restaurants spread throughout the airport, along with souvenir shops and duty free outlets selling crafts, souvenirs and travel items.

Rental car agents are stationed in the terminal along with travel agencies and tour operators, though it is also possible to take a shuttle or hail a taxi from the airport to the city. Ethiopian Airlines also offers regular coach services to and from downtown, while hotel shuttles are available upon request.
