Houari Boumediene Airport

Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers is the main international gateway into Algeria. It is situated 12 miles southeast of the main city and is the main hub of Algeria’s flagship carrier, Air Algerie. Domestic operations to cities like Constantine, Annaba, Oran, Skikda, Tammanrasset, and Tlemcen are offered, as well as select international routes. From the United States, you can connect in Paris via Air France, London on British Airways or Frankfurt with Lufthansa.

The airport is divided into two terminals, domestic and international. It has basic passenger amenities, as well as dining, shopping and lounge areas. If you’re not renting a car or joining a tour group, you can take a taxi from the airport to the city, which takes about 20 minutes or a bus downtown takes 30.
