Montana — Airports

Billings Logan International Airport

Billings Logan International Airport is the biggest and busiest airport in the four state region of Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Just under one million passengers fly into Billings every year. Despite it's name, all of the flights in are domestic, via Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Silver Airways, and United. Denver is by far the busiest route, followed by Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Seattle, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.

The airport sits on top of a flat mesa, just two miles outside of downtown Billings. Its single terminal has only basic amenities, including a single restaurant and gift shop. Ground transportation is provided by an airport shuttle and three taxi companies. Several bus charters such as Greyhound and Rimrock Stages have regular service to long-distance destinations in the four-state region. The most popular transportation option is to rent a car. There are eight major car rental firms on site including Avis, Budget and Enterprise. Plenty of parking is available adjacent to the terminal, both short-term and long-term. Billings Logan lies just off of Interstate 90, a major artery through the region.

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport

Montana’s second-busiest airport is located eight miles outside the city of Bozeman. Situated in the southwestern corner of the state, the airport provides good access to northern Wyoming, southern Idaho and Yellowstone National Park. Each year, around 800,000 people fly into Bozeman, most of them on their way to explore Yellowstone. Airlines operating regular flights from the here include Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta Air Lines, Frontier, and United. The main route is to Denver, followed by Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Chicago.

The recently overhauled Montana terminal is now a state-of-the-art facility, featuring Wi-Fi internet, a restaurant, coffee shop, lounge, gift shops, and a business center. Transportation is possible by shuttle bus, taxi and limo. There are also eight major car rental companies directly next to Baggage Claim including Hertz, Thrifty and National. Bozeman’s airport is also located right off Interstate 90.
