Iraq — Airports
Baghdad International Airport
Baghdad International is the largest airport in Iraq. It is located in a small suburb about 10 miles from downtown. It serves as a hub for the flagship carrier Iraqi Airways, which offers the most flight options. With the most international routes, direct connections to a number of Middle Eastern cities like Dubai, Kuwait, Doha, Amman, and Abu Dhabi are available. Other airlines have flights to major European destinations like London and Stockholm, while local carriers provide trips to other Iraqi hubs like Erbil and Najaf. Taxis are available for the ride into the city.
Erbil International Airport
The main airport for the Kurdistan Autonomous Region, Erbil Airport is the second international gateway into Iraq, offering connections to and from important Middle East cities, plus a number of European hubs. It is served by a list of international and domestic carriers, including the national company Iraqi Airways, which offers regular service to and from Amman, Baghdad, Beirut, Cairo, Istanbul, Najaf, and many other Iraqi and Middle Eastern destinations. The airport is located in Ankawa, which is an easy commute by taxi or bus.

It handles both international and domestic flights, and is served by a number of overseas and regional airlines that offer commercial services and seasonal flights to and from important cities in the Middle East.
