Even though the 40 islands and islets that make up Turks and Caicos are technically situated in the Atlantic Ocean, the cuisine here is highly influenced by the nearby Caribbean islands. Typical meals include locally-cultivated spices and rare species of fish that are found in the surrounding ocean. Most dishes are served with corn, rice, and locally-grown vegetables. Turks and Caicos is also an external territory of Britain, which has also had an influence on the food eaten here. British and other European staples, such as sandwiches, hamburgers, and hot dogs, are popular here, but even these will contain elements of localized flavors.

Bars and Pubbing in Tuvalu

Turks and Caicos has plenty of nightlife for tourists, usually provided for guests at the hotels and resorts. You can find other options around the islands, although the widest choice is offered on Providenciales. Here you will find options ranging from beachside bars, sports bars, and marina bars, to casinos.

The area around Turtle Cove Marina has a few options for nightlife, such as Baci, Banana Boat, and Tiki Hut Cabana. If you are seeking a place with big screens to catch some sports, head to Club Sodax (Leeward Highway, Providenciales) or try Bambooz Bar and Grill (Saltmills Shopping Plaza, Grace Bay Road, Providenciales).

Grace Bay offers a range of beachside bars, such as the Lounge (Grace Bay, Providenciales), or Infinity Bar (Grace Bay, Providenciales). If you wish to try your luck at the casino Casablanca Casino (Grace Bay Road, Providenciales) is a good option. It is open between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., and has roulette, blackjack, craps, and baccarat tables.

Dining and Cuisine in Tuvalu

The widest choice of restaurants can be found on Providenciales, the most populated island of Turks and Caicos. Here you will find a range of typical Caribbean restaurants as well as international cuisine. Grace Bay, in particular, boasts a good cluster of restaurants.

Grace Bay is home to Anacoana (Grace Bay, Providenciales), one of the most popular restaurants in Providenciales. It provides a romantic setting in a beachside location, allowing diners to gaze at the starry sky and listen to the waves gently crashing on the shore. The menu focuses on seafood, but the restaurant is well-known for serving the local delicacy of conch. Reservations are recommended, and no children under the age of eleven are allowed. The restaurant is open daily between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Another gourmet dining experience is Turks and Caicos at Grace’s Cottage (Grace Bay, Providenciales). The menu focuses on seafood, and changes according to what the local fishermen bring in. Reservations are required, and the restaurant is open between 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. To sample modern international cuisine, head to O’Soleil (Grace Bay, Providenciales). This eatery serves creative dishes in an elegant setting, complete with a soothing waterfall on the back wall. The restaurant is open for breakfast between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and then for dinner between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Reservations are recommended, certainly for the dinner service.
