Pointe-a-Pitre International Airport

The main gateway to Guadeloupe is situated on Grande-Terre, about two and a half kilometers from the heart of Pointe-a-Pitre in Abymes. It is officially known as Pointe-a-Pitre International Airport, but is sometimes called Pointe-a-Pitre Le Raizet Airport. Air Cantilles Express and Air Caraibes are the two major airlines serving the airport with Air France, which operates two Airbus A320 crafts for regional flights. The passenger terminal is capable of handling 2.5 million passengers a year, making it one of the busiest in the Lesser Antilles.

The modern terminal has shops, bars and restaurants in the departures area and before the concourse level, as well as on the mezzanine level. The departures area houses a duty-free store, while the main business area is on the first floor. Wi-Fi is available. There is a medical center on the ground floor near the pharmacy where vaccinations are offered.

From the airport, getting to any point in Guadeloupe is easy. Metered taxis are waiting outside to take passengers to their hotel, the city or destination of choice. Car rental like Europcar, Avis, Budget, Sixt, Jumbo, Holiday, and Hertz all have offices in the annex building near the North Terminal after Exit 3.
