International Travel
Getting There By Air
There are international flights to Perth from Europe and Asia. International airlines serving Perth include Air New Zealand (NZ), British Airways (BA), Cathay Pacific (CX), Garuda Indonesia (GA), Malaysia Airlines (MH), Qantas (QF), Singapore Airlines (SQ), South Africa Airways (SA) and Thai Airways International (TG).
There are internal flights from all state capitals. Domestic carriers include Airnorth (TL) (www.airnorth.com.au), Northwest Regional Airlines (www.northwestregional.com.au), Qantas (QF) (www.qantas.com.au), Skywest (XR) (within Western Australia only) (www.skywest.com.au), Virgin Blue (DJ) (www.virginblue.com.au) and Tiger Airways (TR) (www.tigerairways.com/au).

Main Airports
Perth Airport (PER) (www.perthairport.net.au) is 12km (7 miles) from the city (journey time - 25 minutes). To/from the airport: An airport shuttle and public bus service run into the city. Facilities: ATMs, bureau de change, bars, restaurants, shopping, Internet access, car hire, left luggage and play area.
Getting There By Water
Main ports: Port of Fremantle (www.fremantleports.com.au) serves Perth. The Fremantle Inner Harbour port is 19km (11 miles) from Perth.
Getting There By Rail
Transwa rail service (tel: (08) 9326 2600; www.transwa.wa.gov.au) serves Western Australia. The Indian Pacific service runs from Perth to Sydney twice a week and is a three-day trip with beautiful scenery to admire as you travel.
Getting There By Road
The highway network of Western Australia is almost entirely concentrated in the coastal areas. The main exception is the Great Northern Highway which runs from Perth to Port Headland on the northwest coast. Along the south coast is the Eyre Highway, which runs into South Australia. The Brand/Northwest Coastal Highway runs from Perth around the west coast to Kimberley.
The journey between Perth and Sydney takes at least three days. You can buy driving maps from Tourism Western Australia (see Contact Addresses). There is no coach service to Adelaide - travelers need to go via Broome and Darwin to head to the eastern states.
