Adelaide is certainly the heart and soul of South Australia’s shopping scene. The city center is home to the most popular shopping spot in the state, Rundle Mall. Here, shopaholics can spend hours walking up and down the pedestrian mall, enjoying the local and international brands on display. Altogether, there are more than 800 shops operating inside the mall area. Westfield Marion Shopping Centre is the most important shopping complex in the state. Even though it is outside the city center, the shopping mall can be reached via buses from the downtown area. Tea Tree Plaza and Harbour Town are two of the busier medium-sized shopping centers in the state.

Several other items are on popular in South Australia. The Barossa Valley is home to a wide selection of wines, not to mention several shops of antique furniture and related items. Of course, the rural area of Clare Valley is also famous for producing wines of world-class quality. Adelaide is close to McLaren Vale, which is another exciting wine region boasting delectable samples for tourists. Coober Pedy is in the central outback region of South Australia, but is home to a variety of opals. Visitors come from all over Australia to buy cheap opal products and opals themselves. Kangaroo Island is a honey and oyster shell producer.
