Follow in John Wayne’s footsteps when you take a horseback ride at Red Cliff’s Ranch. Spend a day kayaking or paddling down the Colorado River and hike to a desert waterfall or ride a mountain bike on a sandstone highway. Experience the dramatic views of Dead Horse State Park and have another spectacular look at the Colorado River and discover the remote and inaccessible areas as you take a scenic flight. Enjoy a “chuck wagon” dinner and an amazing jet boat tour up the Colorado River and for your final day, take an adventure on the water with a whitewater-rafting excursion.Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Salt Lake City- Moab, UtahFly into Salt Lake City Airport where you will be met, welcomed to Utah and privately driven to Moab, where you will check into the Red Cliffs Lodge.
Nestled on the banks of the Colorado River, surrounded by magnificent 2000 feet high cliffs, the Red Cliffs Lodge is truly a hidden treasure of the west. Inside, the lodge features dramatic 20- foot ceilings, natural wood-paneled walls, rustic log furniture and hand-finished Mexican tile floors. Visiting the lodge feels like stepping back in time.
This afternoon, enjoy Moab’s canyon country on a Hummer 4X4 excursion. Look down into slickrock sandstone canyons from the seat of a Hummer. Riding in a Hummer lets you experience the thrills of backcountry travel to places where you could never take the family sedan! After this thrilling experience, return to the Lodge for overnight.

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge. Canyoneering & Rafting: Have you always wanted to try canyoneering? It’s one of today’s hottest sports. Well here is your chance to do so under the watchful eye of professional guides. And there is no better place to learn than Moab’s beautiful canyon country! On the tour you will explore narrow, meandering slot canyons, and experience the thrill of rappelling as you navigate through these spectacular narrow passageways. Next, follow in John Wayne’s footsteps when you begin your horseback ride at Red Cliffs Ranch, which was the main location for the 1950’s film “Rio Grande”. The scenery is stunning with views of Castle Tower and Porcupine Rim bordering Castle Valley. Combine your time “in the saddle” with time in a river raft on the Colorado River and you’ve got a Moab vacation to remember!

Breakfast Day 3: Moab
Kayaking or Paddling. Chose either a day with a paddling trip on a meandering section of the Colorado River in your own recreational or sit-on-top kayak. It’s a day filled with spectacular scenery, excitement and wonder! Or Paddling- a day with an “upper body workout” as you paddle your own kayak down a calm water section of the Colorado River. Later, chose either hiking or mountain biking- choose between a guided hike to desert waterfalls or a mountain bike tour on a sandstone highway.

Breakfast Day 4: Moab
Today experience a one-hour air tour of Canyonland, discover the remote inaccessible areas of the maze, its vivid colors, gigantic shapes and varying features. Experience a dramatic view of Dead Horse State Park and a spectacular look at the Colorado River. Tonight enjoy a dinner & light show. This evening begins with a delicious chuck wagon dinner cooked Dutch oven style. Afterwards you will board a large jet boat where you will experience an amazing hour light show up the Colorado River

Breakfast, Dinner Day 5: Moab
ATV Adventure- a professional guide will take you to explore the backcountry with new- easy to drive ATV’s. Play in the sand dunes, discover dinosaur bones, visit spectacular vistas and explore the remains of ancient civilizations along the way. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the amenities of the hotel. Sit around the pool or enjoy a game of tennis, as much or as little as you would like this afternoon.

Breakfast Day 6: Moab
For your final day, enjoy a bit of adventure on the water, Westwater Canyon Whitewater Rafting: this wild and scenic river is totally different from modern civilization. The river cascades through the ever-deepening sandstone monuments and into the narrow Black Granite Gorge. Here the river meets opposition from the canyon walls, creating fast and furious rapids.

Breakfast Day 7: Moab- Depart Salt Lake City
Today you will be driven back to Salt Lake City Airport for your homebound flight.
