For sheer diversity, Morocco is the perfect destination. Where else is it possible to explore ancient cities, take a camel ride to the desert, walk in the mountains and stroll along a sandy beach - all in 12 days!During this tremendously varied trip we explore Marrakech, Meknes and Fez, with their crowded bazaars. Take a walk on the sandy beach at Essaouira before our journey takes us south through contrasting mountain ranges, where sand dunes and kasbahs are scattered among palm oases. A highlight of our trip is a camel trek to the edge of the Sahara and a night at a Bedouin camp (or under the stars - your choice!). We fit in a visit to Todra Gorge, to the beautiful 16th Century kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, and we enjoy a village walk in a picturesque valley of the High Atlas.

Itinerary:
Day 1 Start Fez.
2 Guided tour of Fez and its historic sights.
3 Explore the well-preserved Roman sight of Volubilis and Meknes; to Rabat
4 Drive along the coast to Essaouira, briefly visiting Casablanca, El Jadida and Safi along the way.
5 Free day in Essaouira to explore the old town and beach.
6 To Marrakech.
7 Morning guided tour of Marrakech; free afternoon to explore.
8 Travel to village of Tighza, afternoon walk and overnight in mountain gite.
9 Drive along the 'Route of a Thousand Kasbahs', visit Todra Gorge.
10 Travel alongside the Sahro Mountains, to Zagora; camel safari and night in the desert.
11 Early morning return to Zagora by camel, visit kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, return to Ouarzazate.
12 End Ouarzazate.
