After breakfast at the hotel, meet your private vehicle and English-speaking guide for a cultural half-day in Versailles.

...One of the largest castles in the world, we leave Paris via the western highway and arrive at the residential town of Versailles which for almost 100 years was the capital of France between the 17th and 18th centuries. Here, you will visit the state apartments and decorative gardens. Admire the famous "Hall of Mirrors", once the center of the French court and later the scene of the signing of the peace treaty ending the First World War.

The small hunting lodge that had been built for Louis XIII was converted by his son Louis XIV into the grandiose Palace that we visit today.

The great names of the French Classic period Le Vau, Le Brun and Le Notre united together to design this masterpiece, which was terminated during the reign of Louis XV by Jules Hardouin-Mansart with his fabulous Hall of Mirrors, scene of the signing of the 1919 peace treaty ending the First World War.

The reign of Versailles ended when the people of Paris came to fetch the young king Louis XVI and his queen Marie-Antoinette to face the terror of the French Revolution.

View part of the immense park and gardens that surround the castle.

After your visit to this remarkable place, return to Paris, where lunch, dinner and the evening are at your leisure.

The Louvre is housed in a magnificent building, which was originally built for use as a royal palace for King Francis I. A large glass, steel rod and cable pyramid designed by American architect I.M. Pei now covers the main entrance. It is home to one of the most important art collections in the western world, spanning the period from remotest antiquity, through to about 1850.
