Tour Description

Take this fall season tour to witness New England ablaze in fall foliage colors! You will begin with sightseeing in Philadelphia, the “Cradle of our Nation,” with stops at Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and Franklin Court. After a trip through the Big Apple and some city sightseeing in New York en route, visit a gorgeous Newport Mansion in Rhode Island and continue to Massachusetts. Enjoy two days in picturesque Cape Cod before you continue to Boston where you will be able too follow the historic Freedom Trail. Your tour will lead you further north to Quebec City, the only fully walled town in North America, as well as picturesque Montreal - both are surrounded by maple forests glowing in hues of red and yellow! Your time in Canada concludes with a breathtaking stop to gaze at Niagara Falls’ awe-inspiring cascade. On your way southbound back into the US, you will visit the Corning Museum of Glass and you will be treated to a sweet visit at Hershey World. Ending your trip is a visit to historic Gettysburg National Military Park, site of the famous Civil War battle, and a panoramic travel through Amish Country en route back to Philadelphia.

Day 1

(Saturday) - Fly to Philadelphia:

Philadelphia, located in the heart of Fall Foliage country offers a spectacular and colorful beginning to your Autumn Leaves Tour. Guests who purchased their airline tickets from YMT Vacations will be met in the baggage claims area and transferred to the hotel. Guests with individual air arrangements will have to make their own way to the hotel.

Day 2

(Sunday) - Philadelphia, PA Local Sightseeing:

Today, you will explore the cradle of American Liberty as you sightsee throughout historic Philadelphia. Your guided tour will include the most interesting historic locations such as: Independence National Historic Park, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Franklin Court just to name a few.

Day 3

(Monday) - Drive to Connecticut via New York City:

En route to Connecticut you will explore the “Big Apple” on your guided tour of New York City. You will see most of the highlights such as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Ground Zero and Lady Liberty in a panoramic tour before continuing on to New England.

Day 4

(Tuesday) - Drive via Newport, RI to Cape Cod, MA:

Today, you will continue along the Atlantic coast through New Haven, and Mystic, CT, famous for being the hometown in the movie “Mystic Pizza”. Next, we will visit one of the the gorgeous mansions of Newport, RI once home to the likes of Vanderbilts. You will then continue north through to Cape Cod, Massachusetts for a two nights stay.

Day 5

(Wednesday) - Cape Cod, MA Local Sightseeing:

Explore Cape Cod’s scenery, art, and history today. Chatham, located on at the “elbow” of Cape Cod, is known for its beautiful beaches, harbors, coastal scenes and its interesting village shops. Then, right next to Chatham, Provincetown is one of the oldest artist colonies in America, it has produced a large number of excellent galleries, cutting edge theatre and many unique shops. “P-town”, as it is sometimes called, has an intriguing history as the first landing site of the Pilgrims and the place where the Mayflower Compact was signed.

Day 6

(Thursday) - Boston, MA:

You will travel further north and enjoy Boston sightseeing en route. Our City tour will surround you with history today as you follow the Freedom Trail and see such sights as The Boston Common, Paul Revere House, Old North Church, USS Constitution, and Bunker Hill Monument. We will overnight north of the city to get a head start for our drive into the beautiful Mountain ranges leading into the Canadian maple forests.

Day 7

(Friday) - Drive to Quebec, Canada:

Your day starts with a photo opportunity at the beautiful Capitol Building in Concord, N.H. Next, a lunch stop at the incredible Franconia Notch. Beauty continues to unfold before you. The remarkably beautiful and breathtaking White and Green Mountains line your path to Canada!

Day 8

(Saturday) - Quebec City Local Sightseeing:

This morning an optional tour to the St. Anne De Beaupre Shrine is offered. The Shrine is supposedly the location of many miracles, and is a popular destination for religious travelers seeking comfort. This afternoon you will enjoy a city tour of Quebec City, the only entirely walled city in North America boasting its history and great old architecture. Quebec is truly old-world grandeur, and yours to marvel at and enjoy.

Day 9

(Sunday) - Montreal, Quebec, Canada:

This morning you are off to the cosmopolitan hub of eastern Canada - Montreal. Upon arrival an outstanding city tour of beautiful Montreal will give you a grand view of one of the prettiest cities in North America. Later, there is plenty of leisure time for shopping or sightseeing on your own.

Day 10

(Monday) -Montreal Local Sightseeing:

Today, an optional tour to the Eastern Township area of Montreal immerses you in a totally unique ambiance, exemplary of New England’s charm and color. Enjoy the experience of browsing the village boutiques and meeting the local folks. Experience a delightful lunch at La Cubane du Pic Bois Sugar Shack, and an afternoon tour and wine tasting at the famous L"Orpaillieur Winery. This escorted optional tour is not only relaxing and beautiful but also has something for everyone.

Day 11

(Tuesday) - Drive to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada:

You’ll travel westward through the scenic wooded and gently rolling farmlands, ablaze with spectacular color to the spectacular Niagara Falls. We will stay overnight on the Canadian side to ensure the most spectacular viewing of this natural spectacle. Tonight you will have opportunity to explore the village of Niagara and view the falls up close.

Day 12

(Wednesday) - Drive via Corning to Williamsport, PA:

In the morning view the spectacular Niagara Falls in daylight! One of the Wonders of the World, Niagara Falls is a spot which many of you might have visited on your honeymoon. After some time to enjoy it either for the first time or as a repeat visit, your tour takes off to Corning, NY for a tour of the Corning Museum of Glass en route to Williamsport PA, the world headquarters of the Little League of America.

Day 13

(Thursday) - Drive via Harrisburg to Gettysburg, PA:

Your tour will take you further south today. En route is a photo stop at the State Capital in Harrisburg, PA before you will visit Hershey World. Here, not only will you be able to sample “America’s favorite chocolate” but you will also be seeing the chocolate making process up close. A fun experience for young and old alike! Your tour will end in Gettysburg, home of the famous civil war site and a beautiful little historic town.

Day 14

(Friday) - Drive via Pennsylvania Dutch Country to Philadelphia:

This morning you will be touring one of the most important battlefields of the Civil War: Gettysburg. Your local tour guide will bring to life the events of this 3 day struggle which changed the course of the war between the North and the South. You will continue your tour through beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch Country back to Philadelphia. En route we will pass through Amish Country where will stop for lunch on your own.

Day 15

(Saturday) - Depart for Home:

Today it is time to bid farewell to newfound friends and depart back home with plenty of memories of beautiful New England. If you have booked your flight arrangements with YMT Vacations, you will enjoy an included organized transfer back to the airport. Guests who have chosen to make their own air arrangements must make their own way to the airport.
