    This is one of the world’s most beautiful natural harbors. Sail past the Opera House, under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and enjoy the other water craft. Try to get out on the water for the start of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race, otherwise come on a balmy New Years Eve or Australia Day.

    It’s hard to beat these 74 islands for beauty with coral reefs, powdery white beaches and amazing wildlife. It’s a sailing dream with secure anchorages and little ocean swell.

  3. Bay of Islands, New Zealand

    These studded bays, blue seas, silvery beaches rate with sailors as one of the world’s finest cruising regions. On shore there are historic townships to explore and pockets of sub-tropical forests.

  4. Greek Islands

    Think deep blue skies, clear waters, stark white villages and seaside tavernas and you’ll be in Greece. The best way to travel these isles is by boat. Go ashore to view the ancient wonders and make a new port every day.

  5. Nile River, Egypt

    Board an elegant felucca sailboat and head down the Nile towards Luxor, taking in the ancient wonders along the way. These traditional sailboats have become the way to explore this historic route.

  6. Seychelles

    This seemingly forgotten group of 115 islands lies right in the middle of the Indian Ocean, 932 miles from Africa. The archipelago nurtures unique species of flora and fauna including the giant tortoises of Aldabra atoll, 11 unique species of birds and 200 species of fish and aquatic life. Ashore there are amazing granite structures mostly protected in nature reserves. Not surprisingly some people refer to this pristine sanctuary as the "Garden of Eden".

    This island is known as the "pearl of Thailand" for good reason and sailors will soon discover why. Most people find the tropical, clear waters and superb conditions completely memorable. Brilliant white sand beaches and coral islands, sheer limestone cliffs and forested inlets make up the perfect sailing package.

  8. Florida Keys

    Sailing here is a true pleasure. Pleasant breezes, tropical climate and clear waters make this a good location year round. When you’re not sailing try fishing, diving, snorkeling or water skiing – as long as you’re in or on the water.

  9. Virgin Islands, Eastern Caribbean

    Forget the casinos and entertainment of other sailing locations, this one is all about peace and relaxation. The Virgin Islands are a group of small and mostly uninhabited islands and one of the safest yacht areas in the world with numerous sheltered harbors. Many are of volcanic origin which gives character to the terrain and provides superb waters for swimming, snorkeling, diving and sailing.

  10. Belize

    Belize has a barrier reef that rivals Australia’s and is an ideal destination for a sailing journey. There are plenty of deserted tropical islands to go around and plenty of snorkeling and diving.
