The modern day safari to Africa includes the world’s highest bungee jump, some of the fastest rapids in the world and biggest sand dunes to play in. Whatever the choice Africa is a good choice for extreme adventure hunters.

  1. Bungee jumping, Victoria Falls With Victoria Falls as a backdrop, this 365 foot plummet towards the Zambezi River, is arguably the best bungee jump in the world. It’s also the world’s highest commercial bungee jump.
  2. White water rafting, Zambezi River Start a rafting journey beneath the thunderous Victoria Falls on a river like no other on earth. This one will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat as huge whitewater and powerful rapids pound you along through breathtaking scenery, complete with hippos lazing on the riverside.
  3. Sand boarding, Swakopmund, Namibia Experience the wonders of the Namib desert and sand board down some of the largest sand dunes on the planet.
  4. River boarding, Victoria falls Surf the rapids of the Victoria falls on a body board for a completely different experience on the Zambezi.
  5. Mountain biking, Madagascar Take a tour through rugged Madagascar on a bike seat riding through villages and small towns, rice fields, by large rivers and rain forest. Stop regularly to enjoy the communities along the way and appreciate local culture and history. A highlight for mountain scenery is Isalo National Park.
  6. Quad biking, South Africa Go on an all terrain vehicle to take on what South Africa throws up in the way of forests, valleys, streams and mountains. Keep an eye out for wildlife too. Head to the Eastern Cape for the magnificent Amatola and Stormberg regions, to KwaZulu Natal in the Drakensberg Mountains and valleys, or go biking in the Limpopo region in the Bushveld and Valley of the Olifants.
  7. White water rafting, Swaziland Raft the great Usuthu River and its class IV rapids for your adventure fix. Get river guides to tailor a route for your abilities. There is water here suitable for beginners as well as confirmed adrenaline junkies.
  8. Kayaking, Morocco A good place to shake off Europe’s winter blues by heading over the seas to Morocco and onto the Ahansal River. This river pours out of the High Atlas Mountains and takes you between stunning red cliff faces and down a few rapids.
  9. Extreme ironing, Egypt The world record for this unusual sport, where you iron in extreme conditions, was set 450 feet down in the Blue Hole of Dahab. However extreme ironing can be done anywhere and is completely up to you. Just take your iron, your board and a crinkly shirt to an extreme location be it a cliffside hang, underwater or on top of a mountain.
  10. Shark diving, South Africa Jackass penguins and seal populations make the seas here their home but there is also a channel separating two islands known as shark alley and a prime spot for encountering the Great White Shark.
