Idaho has nothing special to set itself apart from America’s other states as an exciting shopping destination. The stores and goods are typical of the rest of the country, from large department stores and big box retailers such as Walmart to a collective of independent shops downtown. Souvenirs make up the stock of many of these small shops in towns like Ketchum, Coeur d’Alene, and Sandpoint.

Boise offers the best range of shopping options. The downtown area features several small shopping neighborhoods, including Hyde Park, the Linen District, and Old Boise. These historic areas have charming storefronts and an eclectic diversity of individual shops. Idaho’s largest shopping mall, the Boise Towne Square Mall, boasts everything from major department stores like Sears to great outdoor gear stores such as REI. On the edge of town, the Boise Factory Outlets contain a clutch of bargain outlet shops from well-known retail names.

Spas

The resorts of Idaho have spawned a number of impressive spas attached to them. The scenery at places like the Coeur d’Alene Resort (Coeur d’Alene) and Meadow Creek Inn and Spa (Stanley) ensure total relaxation and rejuvenation no matter how many treatments you indulge in. The best spa resorts are found in the top tourist towns like Sun Valley, Coeur d’Alene, and Sandpoint. Compared to other parts of America, the spas in Idaho are fairly good value. There are also a number of day spas in Idaho such as the Highlands Day Spa (Post Falls) that have full-service beauty and health treatments on a walk-in or reservation basis.
