As you’d expect, Miami has the most diverse and most expansive shopping scene in Florida, but other cities don’t lag far behind. With 12 million annual visitors, Miami makes a lot of sales. A lot of this shopping is done in the city’s multitude of massive malls, but there are also great local establishments and art shops in the pedestrian Coconut Grove, the Design District’s funky boutiques, and Little Havana’s Calle Ocho for a more ethnic option. Miami’s other main districts are also packed with big name retail chains like the Gap, Armani Exchange, Barneys, and the like.
In Tampa, Old Hyde Park Village has the perfect atmosphere for its quirky shops. St Pete’s has the Pier and Beach Drive for fashionable boutiques along the waterfront, while the open-air BayWalk complex combines shopping with entertainment and dining. Orlando, on the other hand, is best known for its outlet malls like the Orlando Premium Outlets and Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores.
Spas
It’s no surprise that Florida offers a solid array of world-class spas. They can be found in the heart of Miami, in the Keys, and on exclusive little Gulf Coast islands like Amelia. Many spas are located within resorts or five-star hotels like the Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne. Others are more isolated destinations such as Amelia Island Plantation Spa or the Sanibel Harbor Resort & Spa.
Miami has the highest concentration of high-end spas in Florida, including the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Aqua Spa at Delano, and the Spa at the Setai. Few are cheap, but their services and treatments are both top-end and unusual. If you can budget it in, a day at a spa will take your holiday over the top.
