Macau International Airport
The only airport in Macau is Macau International Airport, located on the eastern part of Taipa Island on re-claimed land. The airport is the main hub for Air Macau, which offers flights to China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Singapore and 20 other airlines with regular and seasonal connections to destinations primarily in Asia. For travelers from Europe and North America, it is best to fly into Hong Kong and then go to Macau either by ferry or overland.
This single terminal airport offers all the amenities a traveler would need. There is a food court and the Macau Restaurant for dining options. Duty-free shopping is available in the departure hall, as well as a small shopping arcade for last minute souvenirs. Banking services are available from a Banco Delta Asia branch and currency exchange booth.
The airport is about 20 minutes away from the center of Macau by car. Transportation options include taxis and buses, with most hotels offering shuttle services. Visitors should note that taxis from the airport add a surcharge, as well as extra fees for luggage in the trunk.
