Those who find time to shop between relaxing on the beach and partying at the bars will find a variety of options in Ibiza. La Sirena Shopping Mall (Antonia Palau Street, Ibiza) boasts designer labels, departments stores and grocery stores, while Ibiza’s many markets are good places to look for souvenirs and local delicacies.
Las Dalias Saturday market (near Sant Carles in Santa Eularia) is open year-round and has plenty of stalls selling jewelry, pottery and decorative items, while the famous hippy market Punta Arabi (Es Canar, Santa Eulaira) takes place on Wednesdays from April to October during high season. The festive December time sees Christmas markets spring up all over the island selling handmade gifts and ornaments.
Ceramics-making is a long-standing tradition and still practiced today. The village of Sant Rafel, between Ibiza Town and San Antonio, is the best place to go for authentic, hand-turned pottery. Most items are produced in one of the operational workshops, such as Cerámicas Can Kinoto (Avinguda S R Isidor Macabich Avinguda D, 44, Sant Rafel) or Cerámicas Icardi (42 San Rafael can ferreret). Alternatively, Ibiza Town, San Antonio and other resort areas are filled with souvenir shops where visitors can pick up painted plates depicting blue and white symmetrical patterns or islanders in traditional dress.
Visitors should note that most shops don’t open until around 9:00 a.m. and close for a siesta between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. They resume trade until 7:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m., depending on the store and season.
Spas
The clean air and special salts make Ibiza an ideal location for wellness centers and spas. Spa Posidonia (Hacienda Na Xamena, San Miguel, Ibiza) has eight heated seawater pools set into a cliffside, where visitors can unwind above spectacular views. Alternatively, Atzaro Spa (Sant Joan, Ibiza) is a Balinese style complex where visitors can get a massage or hot stone therapy in one of the wooden treatment temples. The town of Santa Eulalia has a cluster of highly-rated retreats, including Thalasso Spa and Wellness Center (Insotel Fenicia Prestige, Santa Eulalia) and Bodyna Spa (Hotel Aguas de Ibiza, Santa Eulalia). The latter specializes in slimming and firming, but also offers facials, massages, aromatherapy, saunas, and thermal treatments.
