Monaco enjoys a beautiful Mediterranean climate thanks to its ideal location in the South of France. This means that summers are dry and warm with mild, slightly rainy winters. Temperatures during the peak summer months range from 69°F to 78°F, with very little precipitation. In winter, the temperatures drop to between 48°F to 56°F.

The principality sees the largest amount of rain during October and November, but this should not deter visitors. In fact, those willing to risk it will find lower hotel rates and no lines at the popular restaurants.

Best Time to Visit Monaco

Summer is undoubtably Monaco’s busiest and warmest season when the European and international glitterati flock to the beachfront shores. Many of the popular arts and music festivals take place during this time, catering to the high-end vacationers. Hotels tend to fill up and popular restaurants will require advance booking. This is also the most expensive time to visit Monaco.

To avoid the crowds and save some money, coming in the spring or fall can be a nice option. The weather is not as hot as in the summer, but is still pleasant. However, big events during the off-season also attract big crowds, so unless you're coming specifically for the Formula 1 Grand Prix or the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters – it does make sense to avoid these dates.
