Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) is located 26 miles from the capital of Port Louis and is the main airport of Mauritius. The flagship carrier is the national airline, Air Mauritius, which has regular flights to Australia (Perth), China (Hong Kong, Shanghai-Pudong), England (London Heathrow), India (Bangalore Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai), Kenya (Nairobi), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Nairobi, Réunion (Saint-Denis, Saint Pierre), the Seychelles (Mahé), Singapore, and South Africa (Cape Town, Johannesburg). Other carriers include Air France, who ferries tourists between Mauritius and Paris, and Air Italy, who travels between Mauritius and Milan. There are no direct flights from the US, but it's easy to connect in one of the above listed cities.

Mauritius’ airport is small, but has transport and transfer desks, a couple of duty-free and souvenir shops, currency exchanges offices, an information desk, and food and drink outlets. Buses, metered taxis and car rental are available at the airport.
