Heading off to Bermuda? Lucky you! After Henry Wu and Zory Mory — the jet-setting talents behind the blog This Life of Travel — experienced all that Fairmont Southampton has to offer last month, Bermuda has become one of their favorite island destinations packed with pink sand beaches, turquoise water, and friendly locals.
Now, to make sure you're fully prepared for your own island getaway, check out the duo's Bermuda packing guide so that your stay can be just as memorable as theirs!
Passport
Bermuda is a British Territory, so you’ll need to bring a valid Passport to present to Immigration/Customs on arrival. I like to keep digital copies of my Passport on my phone or on the cloud (Dropbox, iCloud, Google Drive, etc).
Swimsuit
From the pink sand beaches and azure blue water to the boundless water activities on offer, don’t forget to pack a stylish swimsuit/swim shorts! But not to fret, if you forget to bring one, that’s always a good excuse to go shopping in Hamilton!
Hat
To complete your Bermuda outfit, make sure to bring a hat to keep yourself cool on those sunny days!
Sunscreen
Since you’ll most likely be outdoors enjoying everything Bermuda has to offer, make sure to pack a 45+ SPF sunscreen to protect your skin. You’ll thank yourself twenty years from now.
Sunglasses
Nothing is worse than having perpetual sun-squint eyes. Solve it with a good pair of sunglasses. You’ll look way cooler too!
Sandals
Nothing screams ‘island noob’ more than arriving to the beach with a pair of sneakers, only to have them full of sand that you can’t get out a year later.
Book
If you’re not into active water sports, there’s nothing better than getting lost into a good book with the sounds of the ocean nearby.
Camera
Your smartphone will probably do, but to step your your travel photo game - invest in a portable mirrorless camera.
Light jacket or sweater, umbrella and rain jacket in case it rains.
Bermuda is a bit cooler than other Caribbean islands, so you’ll want to bring a light jacket or sweater for those cool nights. It does rain sometimes in quick downpours, so an umbrella or rain jacket is a good idea as well.
One Elegant Outfit
Bermuda, being a former British Colony, still has plenty of posh restaurants and lounges. You may want to visit one for dinner or drinks and no one wants to be underdressed!
Golf Clubs
Bermuda is known for having some of the best golf east of the Mississippi, so if you’re an avid golfer - welcome to paradise.
Bermuda Shorts
Actually, no need to pack these - you can buy yourself a genuine pair while you’re here!
