Day 1

Arrive Arusha, Tanzania

Upon arrival in Tanzania, you are escorted to your deluxe hotel in Arusha. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, allowing time for a tour of this historic colonial lodge.

Day 2 & 3

Ruaha National Park

Day 2, transfer by boat to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Ruaha, a remote national park with fabulous game, including big cats, large herds of elephant, and prolific bird life. Your luxury safari camp is one of the very few set in this undiscovered gem of Tanzania, a region of dramatic landscapes, hypnotic scenery, and epic baobab trees. Ruaha is home to large collections of carnivores, such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, and wild dog, as well as giraffe, zebra, and impala. The birding here is also quite spectacular, with more than 520 different species of birds, including the unique Ruaha Red-billed hornbill. Enjoy two days of 4WD game drives, dawn walking safaris, and night game viewing as you navigate the dry riverbeds and listen to your expert guide tell you fascinating and often bizarre stories of the local flora and fauna. Day 4 - 6

Selous Game Reserve

Relax the morning of Day 4 before your mid-morning flight to the Selous Game Reserve, Africa’s largest game reserve. Spend three unforgettable days and nights here, viewing the abundant wildlife in this wild African bush, by boat, vehicle and on foot. Arise early for a guided game walk to learn about this complex eco-system as you enjoy amazing encounters and witness nature at its best. Take morning and afternoon game drives in an open-sided jeep, watching for elephant, giraffe, lion, leopard, and even the rare African Wild Dog. Ride in a covered raft boat along the mighty Rufiji River or Lake Nzerakera, weaving amongst the pods of hippo and crocodile lining the banks. In the evenings, relax with gourmet cuisine and wine at your deluxe tented camp. (3B,3L,3D)

Day 7 & 8

The Swahili Coast

On Day 7, take a morning flight to Dar es Salaam, where you are met and escorted to Ras Kutani on the shores of the tranquil Indian Ocean. Immerse yourself in this small Swahili Coastal retreat of castaway luxury, set alone on a pristine beach of white sand. Take walks along the beach and through the coastal forest looking for monkeys and the spectacular black-and-white Colobus. Visit the village of Gomvu for a glimpse of local Swahili life. And boogie board, snorkel, or kayak to watch turtles hatch or catch a glimpse of a passing humpback whale. (2B,2L,2D)

Day 9 & 10

Dar es Salaam & Depart

Enjoy the tropical sunshine on Day 9 before your escorted transfer back to Dar es Salaam. Explore the city on an afternoon sightseeing tour, and then celebrate your last evening in Tanzania with a sunset dinner at the Slipway Hotel. Just after midnight early Day 10, you are transferred to the airport for your departing flight. (2B,D)
