Bangkok Sightseeing
This morning travel by long-tail speedboat on the picturesque Chao Phraya River and klongs (canals). Stop to visit the elegant Temple of Dawn.
In the afternoon visit the Grand Palace, and its holy Temple of The Emerald Buddha, built for the King of Siam in 1782 in traditional exotic Thai style. See its fabulous solid Jade Buddha, the Royal Funeral Hall and the Royal Coronation Hall. Continue through Chinatown to Wat Po (‘Temple of the Reclining Buddha’), the largest and oldest temple in Bangkok. (B)
Bangkok to Yangon, Myanmar
Today fly from Thailand to Yangon in exotic Myanmar. This city lies in the fertile delta of southern Myanmar, on the wide Yangon River. Yangon is a city filled with shaded boulevards and shimmering stupas that seem to float above the treetops. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore. (B)
Yangon Sightseeing
Spend the day exploring this ancient capital city. You start with a visit to the Sule Pagoda, an octagonal pagoda and gleaming center point of the city. See the 27-foot high Sihasana Lion Throne, and visit the National Museum for an orientation to the culture of this mystical country. Take a break at the colorful Bogyoke (Scott) Market, filled with Burmese handicrafts and gems.
In the afternoon, your tour explores some of the historic pagodas, including the Shwedagon Pagoda, whose golden stupa towers over the city. (B)
Yangon to Mandalay & Embarkation
Today fly from Yangon to Mandalay, and upon arrival, you are taken to the Ayeyarwady River to board the Road to Mandalay cruise boat, your home for the next three nights. Tonight enjoy dinner and local entertainment on board. (B,L,D)
While cruising aboard the deluxe Road to Mandalay, relax on the top deck and watch the fascinating river life and listen to the guide lectures on the local history, sites and customs. Enjoy the local entertainment on board each evening.
Sagaing & Cruise
While still in port in Mandalay, visit Sagaing. Considered the living center of the country’s Buddhist faith, each year, thousands of monks and nuns come to Sagaing to retreat and meditate. Sagaing is also home to traditional silversmiths who work using the methods of their ancestors. This afternoon relax as your ship sails south down the river. (B,L,D)
Cruise to Bagan
This morning, the ship docks in Bagan. Enjoy a guided orientation tour of this region – a riverside plain dotted with thousands of 800-year old temples and pagodas.
This afternoon you may stay with the guide to investigate inside some of the more significant pagodas; you may also choose to or hire a bicycle or horse-drawn carriage to explore the town on your own. Late afternoon, your guide takes you to watch the breathtaking vista of the sun setting over the plain. Enjoy dinner and the local entertainment on board. (B,L,D)
Disembark Cruise and Bagan to Yangon
This morning, disembark the ship by jetty and transfer to the Bagan airport, for your flight back to Yangon in southern Myanmar. The rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy your last afternoon and evening in this mystical country. (B)

You are taken to the airport for your departing flight home or on to your next destination. (B)
