Bangkok Marathon

Ran along a course through the center of this bustling city, the annual Bangkok Marathon takes participants on a route that includes many of the city’s famous landmarks. Passing the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the National Museum and the Chao Phraya River, there are many scenic spots from which to watch the action. But one of the best places to watch the marathon is on Sanam Chai Road next to the famous Grand Palace which is where the race starts and finishes.
World Film Festival of Bangkok

The objective of the World Film Festival of Bangkok is to introduce quality, non-mainstream films from all over the world. In its 9th year in 2011, film screenings combine with film-related talks and workshops to enhance the festival and to entertain its patrons.
Bangkok New Year Countdown

One of the biggest New Year parties in Thailand, Bangkok’s New Year Countdown is a fabulous celebration which attracts revelers from all over the world. Highlights from the evening entertainment program include a beer festival, crafts market and performances by some of the country’s biggest and best-known singers, actors and musicians. And on the stroke of midnight, an incredible fireworks display announces the arrival of the New Year which is broadcast live on Thai television. Many of Bangkok’s bigger shops and department stores also hold special sales with plenty of bargains to be found.
Chiang Mai Arts and Culture Festival

Over a period of nine days, visitors are invited to get better acquainted with the region’s burgeoning arts scene through a packed program of events and entertainments. The activities range from traditional music and dance performances to more contemporary art installations and exhibitions. Other attractions and events include food exhibitions, children’s puppet shows, handicraft exhibitions and workshops. The event was first held in 1996 to celebrate Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s birthday which coincides with the Thai Cultural Heritage Preservation Day.
