Israeli passport holders are not permitted to enter Qatar

Visas

Required by all nationals referred to in the chart above except the following:
(a) transit passengers whose tickets show they intend to continue their journey from the airport within eight hours.

Visa Note

(a) 1. Nationals of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, the UK and the USA can obtain entry visas upon arrival at the airport in Doha at as cost of £15 (cash is not excepted). Visitors may conduct business on an entry visa providing authrities are given prior notice. (b) Those applying for visas in advance must include bank statements from the last three months which must show name, address of the applicant and at least 850 pounds in the account OR a formal letter from your employer confirming that you are visiting Qatar on business (if you are appling for a business visa). (d) Nationals not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements.

Types of Visa and Cost

One month business visa: £ 40; one month tourist visa: £20. British passport holders may apply for six months (£85), one year or two year multiple entry visas (£270) and five year multiple entry visas (£500). Irish passport holders can apply for a one to five year multiple entry visa (£250). Stays for the above multiple entry visas may not exceed one month at a time.

Applications to:

Consulate (or consular section at embassy); see Important Addresses for details. Nationals of countries where Qatar has no diplomatic representation may apply for visas through an alternative embassy or their hotel in Qatar, which will arrange for the visa to be collected on arrival at the airport. Those wishing to visit friends or relatives in Qatar may ask them to apply to the immigration authorities in Qatar on their behalf for a visa.

Working Days Required

Applications generally take five days, although they may take up to two weeks in busy periods.

Travel Warnings

Travelers should be aware of the threat from terrorism in Qatar. Al-Qaeda continues to issue statements threatening to carry out attacks in the Gulf region. These include references to attacks on Western interests, including residential compounds, military, oil, transport and aviation interests.

Travelers should review their security arrangements carefully. They should remain vigilant, particularly in public places.

Hamad General Hospital in Doha offers subsidised medical and dental treatment for tourists although health insurance is advised for pre-existing conditions.
