Travel Warnings
Most visits to Ukraine are trouble-free but you should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate international terrorist attacks, which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners.
Travelers should be aware of petty crime, particularly in crowded areas, tourist spots and on public transport. There have been some reports of racially motivated attacks towards travelers of Asian or Afro-Caribbean descent, and travelers belonging to religious minorities.
As of November 2010, Ukrainian Mediterranean Airlines remains on the European Commission's list of air carriers that are subject to an operating ban or restrictions within the European Union. Ukrainian Mediterranean Airlines, Ukraine Cargo Airways and Volare were previously on the list, but have been removed in the latest release.

Health Care
The health service does, in theory, provide free medical treatment for all citizens and travelers who become ill. However, as in most parts of the former Soviet Union, health care is a serious problem. For minor difficulties, visitors are advised to ask the management at their hotels for help. For major problems, visitors are well advised to seek help outside the country. The UK and Ukraine have a bilateral agreement on emergency medical treatment, so UK travelers should not need to pay an insurance levy on arrival. Travel insurance is strongly recommended however. It is advisable to take a supply of those medicines that are likely to be required (but check first that they may be legally imported) as medicines can prove difficult to obtain. Travelers are advised to contact their embassy, in the first instance, for advice on where to get medical help.
