A week of large-scale religious processions parading often huge statues through the main streets, featuring hooded penitents. Good Friday is the main parade.

Corpus Christi
May-June
This is the most important festival in Toledo featuring religious processions on a carpet of flower petals and fragrant herbs, at the heart of which is the huge Monstrance from the Cathedral (said to have been made with the first gold brought from America). Children in fancy costume, bands and giant papier-maché figures lighten the proceedings.
