All passports must be valid for at least six months on arrival in Romania.
Visas
Not required by all nationals referred to in the chart above for the following lengths of visit: 1. Nationals of EU countries for a three-month period (those intending to stay for a longer period than three months must apply for a registration certificate issued by the Romanian Authority for Aliens). EU citizens can use a national identity card instead of a passport; 2. Nationals of Australia, Canada and the USA for travel and tourism trips of up to three months.

Travel Warnings
Most visits to Romania are trouble-free but you should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate international terrorist attacks, which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners.
Beware of pickpockets and other petty thieves in crowded areas.
There have been a number of Hepatitis A cases in Romania. Travelers are advised to seek medical advice about inoculations before traveling and to drink only bottled water.

Health Care
Medical facilities in Romania are poor and there is a serious shortage of basic medical supplies and qualified personnel. European travelers carrying the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) are entitled to free or reduced cost medical care. Nationals of countries who do not have a reciprocal health agreement with Romania are expected to pay immediate cash for health services. Health insurance is strongly advised.
