St Blaise's Day

The patron saint of Dubrovnik, Blaise is celebrated here perhaps more than anywhere else. An impressive statue of Saint Blaise can be seen at the 1537 Pile Gate. Dubrovnik celebrates its saint’s day with enthusiasm. His relics are paraded through the Old Town and there are parades and parties through the day.

Rijeka Carnival

Olympic Sailing Week

Split is an ancient maritime city where sailing is in the blood and the local character is very much influenced by the sea. The first regatta took place here in 1924, but the Olympic Sailing Week didn’t start until 2005. This is an international regatta for the categories: Finn, Laser Men, Laser Radial Women, Star, Yingling Women, 470 Men, 470 Women and 49’er. The competition format follows ISAF guidelines for the Olympic Games regatta and ISAF Grade 1 regattas. A week’s great sailing and camaraderie awaits keen sailors in Split.

Animafest Zagreb

Animafest Zagreb is one of Europe’s longest-running festivals celebrating animated film. The organizers reckon that this is the friendliest gathering place for filmmakers and fans of all different genres and categories of animated film. Throughout the festival week, the art and production of animated film are promoted through various perspectives, with an emphasis on the output of European filmmakers. Recent productions, retrospectives and film competitions are prominent in a program which also includes exhibitions, lectures and panel discussions.
