Shopping

There is a good range of high quality duty-free shopping available in Philipsburg.

Shopping hours: Mon-Sat 0800-1200 and 1400-1800.

Currency

Netherlands Antilles Guilder or Florin (ANG; symbol ƒ) = 100 cents. Notes are in denominations of ƒ100, 50, 25 and 10. Coins are in denominations of ƒ5 and 1, and 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1 cents. There are also a large number of commemorative coins which are legal tender. US Dollars are widely accepted, and prices are usually quoted in both Dollars and Guilders.

The Antilles Guilder is linked to the US Dollar.

All major currencies can be exchanged at banks on the island.

Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and ATMs

All major credit cards are widely accepted.

Travelers Checks

Widely accepted. To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travelers are advised to take traveler's checks in US Dollars.

Currency Restrictions

There are no restrictions but amounts over ƒ20,000, or equivalent, must be declared.

Banking Hours

Mon-Fri 0830-1130 and 1330-1630. Some banks are also open on Saturday.
