Hotels
There are a number of hotels, motels and lodges in Honiara, but visitors are advised to make advance reservations. Accommodation is also available in Malaita, the Reef Islands and Western Solomons. A number of lodges and resorts on the islands offer a variety of leisure activities. A full list of accommodation and rates is available from the Ministry of Commerce, Employment and Tourism or the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau.
Camping/Caravanning
Camping is rare and is best confined to more remote areas. Permission should always be obtained from the landowner, usually the village chief, before pitching a tent.
