The wide-reaching scope of the festival covers traditional visual mediums such as painting and drawing as well music and dance and promises visitors a lively and interesting experience. The aim of the event is to encourage creative expression and participation and to this end there are a number of activities, exhibitions, performances, forums and workshops that visitors can get involved with.

Feast of the Assumption of Mary

Christianity is the main religion in the Seychelles and each year the islands celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. Events take place throughout the region but among the biggest celebrations are those at the church of La Digue. Seychellois from Mahe and Praslin flock to the smallest of the three main islands for this important religious festival to offer prayer and thanks in honor of the Virgin Mary.
