Terminal Transfer
Shuttles run between the terminals, at 20 minute intervals, for ticketed passengers. Non-ticketed visitors can take a bus between terminals for Rs. 10.
Ground Transport
Taxis are the easiest way to get to central Delhi. Metered taxis are available but it is best to use pre-paid taxis (via the taxi counter in Arrivals). Punjab Tourism coach services are available at the arrival hall at Terminal II, traveling from the airport to Amritsar, Karnal, Ambala, Rajpura, Ludhiana and Jullandhar - the fare ranges from Rs. 175 to Rs. 500 per person, depending on the destination. There are also paid coach services available 24hrs from the airport. The bus drop-off point is located opposite Centaur Hotel, there is a 24hr shuttle service to and from Terminal 3, every 15 minutes. Coaches leave every hour and cost Rs.75 per person. Car hire (with driver) can be arranged in the Arrivals Hall. Travel time to the city is around 30 minutes by car/taxi and 45 minutes by bus.
Car Rental
Car hire (with driver) can be arranged in the Arrivals Hall. Avis operates from the airport, and Hertz also offers car rental from New Delhi. However, self-drive cars are not advised due to the erratic nature of Indian driving.
Airport Taxis
Metered taxis are available at the airport but it is best to use pre-paid taxis. The Airports Authority of India offer pre-paid taxi service for arriving passengers. Approved fares for various locations are displayed at the taxi counters located inside the Arrivals halls. Pick-up points are just outside the terminals. The fare is fixed at Rs.13 for the first kilometer and Rs.7 for subsequent kilometers, with 25% extra from 11pm to 5am. Travel time to the city is about 30 minutes.
Airport Facilities
Wi-fi is enabled throughout the airport, however accessing the system requires a mobile number to which your log-in information may be sent. Money exchange facilities are available in all terminals and there are ATM facilities as well. Special needs passengers are fully catered for and assisted at each terminal, however they are advised to contact their airline in advance.There are Child Care lounges with toys and cots in all terminals. The main terminal has a 100-room hotel, as well as a large waiting area with a business center, lounges, shops, bars and restaurants.
Car Parking
Parking lots are divided into General Parking and Premium Parking. Premium is closer to the main terminal and incurs a higher daily rate. Short- and long-term parking is available. The multilevel car park has a capacity for 4300 cars.
Departure Tax
Rs. 750 for international passengers. Rs. 200 for domestic passengers (Sometimes included within ticket price).
