Madagascar — Events
Alahamady Be
The celebration of the Malagasy New Year is held annually in March. Locals dance and revel to traditional music. ‘Alahamady’ roughly translated means the first day of the Malagasy month and the celebration last for two days.
Whale Watching
Each year visitors in Madagascar head to the Isle Sainte Marie where some of the best whale watching in the country can be done. Between the months of July to September lucky visitors can catch a glimpse of the annual humpback whale migration and see mothers and calves frolicking in the shallow waters. Boats are available for hire and round this time of year there are plenty of guides to take travelers through the experience.
