Introduction To Via Ferrata(Trip #65646)

Tour Overview

Attempt wonderful protected scrambling routes in the spectacular Dolomites
This is the perfect introductory trip for good walkers who enjoy scrambling and are looking for a new mountain challenge. We enjoy high level walking with incredible views of the Sella Ronda, the classic winter ski tour, and take on some classic Via Ferrata routes such as the Tridentina. Alta Badia, in the northeast corner of the Dolomites, has a strong Ladin community so even though the region is part of Italy, 91% of the population still speak the officially recognized Ladin language. Based in the attractive village of Corvara (1568m), our luxury hotel is the ideal place to return at the end of a testing day, thanks to the warm hospitality, sumptious cuisine and award-winning wellness centre. With 100 years of history, this family-run hotel offers easy access to all facilities, including the outdoor pool, from where we can gaze at Corvara's stunning backdrop - the towering Sassongher. The Daily Mail - writes about Summer Highs - Via Ferrata (11 February 2009).
