Start in the capital of Kuala Lumpur- from colonial mansions and the bustle of Chinatown to the modern magnificence of the Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur represents the true essence of modern Malaysia. Then explore one of the oldest rainforests in the world, estimated at 130 million years old. Enjoy river cruises, jungle trekking and a canopy walk offering fantastic up close views of the activity in the rainforest. Spend a night at the most popular observation hide where you can spot tapir, wild boar and sambar deer- the logbooks here also record several sightings of tiger and elephant! Enjoy an exhilarating day of cave exploration and shooting the rapids. Visit an elephant sanctuary, which over the past 25 years has helped prevent the further decline of the elephant population by relocating more than 300 wild elephants from where their habitats are endangered. Tour the historical city of Malacca and experience the rich culture that has evolved over a period of 600 years.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Arrive Kuala Lumpur International airport. After clearing customs and immigration, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in and tour briefing. Enjoy the balance of your day at leisure.

At 20:00hrs meet in the hotel lobby where you will be transferred to dinner at a local restaurant, including a traditional folklore show.

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, meet in the hotel lobby at 09.00hrs for a half-day city tour.
(Note: Visitors are asked to wear modest clothing and to remove their shoes when entering the mosques. Modest outerwear is available for rent outside the mosque.)
Proceed to visit Independence Square (photo stop), Sultan Abdul Samad Building (The iconic Sultan Abdul Samad building is located in front of Independence Square and Royal Selangor Club, which was completed in 1897 - this historical building houses the Supreme and High Courts. The building with unique Moorish designs and clock tower is widely photographed by visitors to the city center), National Mosque (one of Southeast Asia's largest mosques, its unique modern design embodies a contemporary expression of traditional Islamic art, calligraphy and ornamentation), view the architecturally fabulous old railway station built with in distinct Moorish style situated next to the National Mosque, pass by the Lake Gardens and National Monument (photo stop).
Continuing on to visit Masjid Jamek (the oldest mosque in the city, built in 1909. The mosque sits at the meeting point of the Klang and Gombak rivers, which is also the birthplace of Kuala Lumpur. Its architecture inspired by Mogul influences of northern India). Proceed to visit National Palace (the official residence of the King and Queen of Malaysia. Built by local millionaire, Chan Wing in 1928, as his official residence it was later used by the Japanese as their offices during the Japanese occupation in Malaya (1942-1945). On the achievement of the country's Independence from the British in 1957, the newly elected Federal Government transformed the stately mansion into a residence fit for the King (the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong).

Proceed to Menara Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur Tower) to view the Kuala Lumpur skyline from 276m above the ground level (experience the vibrance of the metropolitan city from the observation deck with an audio tour) and enjoy the cultural performances at the amphitheatre of this tower.
Your city tour ends with a visit to the Petronas Twin Towers, once regarded as the tallest building in the world.
Return to hotel. Balance of day at leisure.

Day 3: Kuala Lumpur- Taman Negara National Park
After breakfast, meet in the hotel lobby for your pick up for your ground transfer to the Tembeling Jetty. Upon arrival you will board the boat to Taman Negara. Transfer to the resort for check in. Dinner will be served at the resort restaurant.

Taman Negara is one of the oldest rainforests in the world, estimated at 130 million years old. The abundance and diversity of nature here is phenomenal, making it one of the world's most complex and rich ecosystems. Taman Negara (National Park) is the first and the oldest official protected area in the country, originally named King George V National Park. Declared in 1938, it was charged with preserving the land's indigenous nature in perpetuity. The park was renamed Taman Negara after the nation gained independence in 1957.

Day 4: Taman Negara National Park
(Note: Today’s attire should be long pants, sport shoes and you will need a towel, bed sheet and sleeping bag.)
After breakfast, depart from the resort for jungle trekking to Kuala Trenggan via Lubok Lesong with lunch en route. Lunch will be at Seri Mutiara Restaurant.

Overnight will be at the Kumbang Hide, the most popular observation hide in Taman Negara, equipped with bunk beds and toilet. The hide overlooks a saltlick where animals get their mineral supplements. Spottings of tapir, wildboar, sambar deer are common while the logbook also records several sightings of tiger and elephants.

Day 5: Taman Negara National Park
After breakfast, trek from Kumbang Hide to Kuala Trenggan. Then return to the Resort by boat and enjoy shooting the rapids between Kuala Trenggan and Kuala Tahan, stopping en route to visit the Orang Asli (aborigine people).

After lunch at the Seri Mutiara Restaurant, enjoy a boat cruise to Lata Berkoh for swimming.

Dinner tonight will be at the resort.

Day 6: Taman Negara National Park
After breakfast at Seri Mutiara Restaurant, depart for jungle trekking (approximately 6 hours) to the Canopy Walkway and Terasek Hill. The canopy walk offers a fantastic close up view of activity in the rainforest.

Lunch will be at the Seri Mutiara Restaurant.

After lunch depart for cave explorations at Gua Telinga (meaning ‘Ear Cave’).

Making it through Taman Negara’s Gua Telinga means finding your way through a cave full of small bats for 30 minutes. Your exploration may require crawling in places along narrow passages and negotiating areas of deep squishy guano. Since these passages are dimly lit, a flashlight is highly recommended. If you decide against going into Gua Telinga, at least follow the path around the cave and have a look at the sculptured rock around the cave exit.

Return to the resort for dinner and evening at leisure.

Day 7: Taman Negara National Park- Kuala Gandah- Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, check out of the resort and transfer by boat from Mutiara Taman Negara to the Kuala Tembeling Jetty. Then after lunch we leave for the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary.

Over the past 25 years the sanctuary has helped to prevent the further decline of the elephant population by relocating more than 300 wild elephants! Kuala Gandah aims to promote public awareness of the elephant's plight in Malaysia and to support research into elephant translocation and conservation. It also aims to educate the public about the importance of habitat and environmental preservation.

This center was established in 1989 by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks as a base for the Elephant Relocation Team that started in 1974. Being the only center in Malaysia, the team is dedicated to locating and subduing problem elephants from areas where their habitats are constantly being encroached on by plantations, to Malaysia's National Parks such as Taman Negara.

After your visit to this special place, depart for Kuala Lumpur and check in to your hotel. Dinner and the evening are at your leisure.

Day 8: Kuala Lumpur- Malacca- Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, depart for the historical city of Malacca. This historical and heritage tour offers an insight into Malacca’s rich history and her cultural heritage, which evolved over a period of more than 600 years.

The tour includes a visit to the UNESCO Heritage Site- the Dutch Square located in the city center, which is comprised of the Stadthuys, Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower, Queen Victoria Fountain and the famous Christ Church.

See the narrow houses of Heeren Street and the antique shops of Jonker Street.

Visit the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum- a fascinating museum where you can explore the unique interior of a typical Peranakan House. The family who owns the house gives guided tours and tells fascinating stories about the architecture and curios, including Blackwood tables and chairs from China and the sumptuous traditional wedding costumes.

Stop and explore Harmony Street where you will find three different houses of worship situated in line next to each other: Cheng Hoon Teng Temple (the oldest Chinese Temple in Malacca), Kampong Kling Mosque and the Sri Vinayagar temple. Continue to the St. Paul’s Hill Complex to view the Independence memorial, Porta de Santiago, commonly known as “A Formosa”, the ruins of St. Paul’s Church where Malacca’s Saint Francis Xavier was once buried, and the replica of the Palace of Malacca Sultanate.

Tour the Portuguese settlement in which Portuguese descendents live and still speak the ancient language of Cristao. Take your time and browse and perhaps buy some souvenirs.

Afterwards, return to Kuala Lumpur.
