Tour Overview
More then anything else, Fiji is an exotic destination. Over 333 islands can sizzle with excitement or murmur with the quiet calm of pristine nature. Where else can you swim with huge, harmless manta rays congregating by the shore or snorkel over giant rainbow gardens of soft coral. It is also where you can float in the calm, quiet waters of a turquoise lagoon at sunset or walk alone through lush rainforest. Vatulele Island (translated to Ringing Rock) sits south of Fiji’s largest island Viti Levu. The island faces directly on to the South Pacific Ocean, but is protected by a magnificent barrier reef that forms an extensive lagoon in front of the exclusive Vatulele Island Resort. The Vatulele Island Resort is situated on the western side of the island, comprising 85 acres, and offers spacious bures decorated with Fijian art and local timber furnishings to reflect the tropical ambiance of the island and gives you a view of the shimmering sea. Access to limestone cliffs, caves and Fijian sacred sites enhances the island’s mystique. Relax at the resort or enjoy one of the activities available (snorkeling, sailing, paddling, tennis, diving or sport fishing) or possilby a jungle hike to see ancient petroglyphs or underground caves, or an excursion to a local village. Apart from the resort the other inhabitants of the island live in four villages with a total population of 900. Their livelihood is sustained through fishing, farming and cloth making.
