CANYON ADVENTURE(Trip #63797)

Tour Overview

This trek's for anyone who gets a huge kick out of free-spirited adventure, bags of fresh air and seriously rugged scenery. We're talking cowboy camps, heavy-duty hikes, the canyonlands of Utah and Arizona - and a whole heap of extra possibilities from rafting to extreme jeep tours.

ONE OF OUR MOST ADVENTUROUS TREKS. It offers a wide range of outdoor activities in some of the most spectacular settings in the Southwest. Explore, experience and discover the Real America in the incomparable canyonlands of Arizona and Utah.

For over 35 years, TrekAmerica has been tempting travellers away from the "package" tour approach and into the world of young, fun and exciting small group adventures for 18-38 year olds. Over the years, we have brought together a hearty group of international explorers who have criss-crossed the continent over 10,000 times. This is the world of TrekAmerica - the specialists in "off the beaten path" adventures across the Americas. So why not challenge yourself...not your budget.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1-2: - Las Vegas & Grand Canyon
What better way to begin than with the incredible Grand Canyon National Park! Spend two days and nights exploring the vastness of this great natural wonder and then top it off with a memorable scenic flight over the canyon.
Accommodation: Camping included

Day 3-4: - Monument Valley & Wild West Cowboy Camp
Take a breath and move on to Monument Valley where you take a hike and jeep tour off the beaten track with an Indian guide to better experience and understand the Navajo Nation. Get that red dust beneath your boots and pitch camp under a million blazing stars. Next morning, those giant slabs of sandstone are real scene-stealers against that azure Arizona sky. Then on to our Wild West Cowboy Camp. Yee-ha! If you packed a ten-gallon hat, tonight's the night to wear it. Your feast is served piping hot from an authentic Dutch oven - that's a three-legged cooking pot for strangers to life on the plains.
Accommodation: Camping included

Day 5-7: - Canyonlands & Arches National Parks
Next, we'll visit Dead Horse Point State Park, where we immerse ourselves with magnificent views of Canyonlands National Park and take in the breathtaking vistas that surround us. Canyonlands is one of America's least known, but most spectacular National Parks! You may want to rest up before the next stop - Arches National Park. Saddle up and set off along the Slickrock Trail. Weird and wonderful rock formations add surreal decoration to testing mountain bike routes and challenging hiking circuits.
Accommodation: Camping included

Day 8-10: - Bryce & Zion National Parks and Las Vegas
The adventure continues into Zion and Bryce National Parks, where a kaleidoscope of colours beckon. Hike through a mysterious city of columns, turrets and spires and enjoy the breathtaking views from every angle. Then back to civilisation where pools, casinos and relaxation greet you in Las Vegas. How about one last cowboy encounter, Sin City-style? Say hi to Vegas Vic and Vegas Vicky, the neon twosome who beat all those other Vegas signs hands down.
Accommodation: Camping included

Tour ends at 18:00 hrs in Las Vegas on day 10.
