WatersportsSaõ Tomé e Príncipe has some of the clearest waters on the western coast of Africa and is therefore ideal for swimming, snorkeling and diving. Beaches have white as well as black sand.
Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon) on São Tomé is good for snorkeling (but there is only a rocky beach). Individual hotels can arrange diving trips as well equipment hire. Hotels and resorts can also organize deep-sea fishing trips, notably on Bom Bom Island.
OtherVisitors can also enjoy excellent hiking through São Tomé’s rainforest as well as fascinating and varied birdwatching.
