Halcyon Farm B and B is 5 miles south of Amsterdam exit 27 off I-90 , in historic Mill Point along the Schoharie river. The 7,000 sq foot Federal brick home, once a tavern, was built from 1790 to 1819 and sits between 300 acres of hay fields and woods and the high Blue Bank cliff. The steep stagecoach trail which skirts this cliff survives to this day and is accessible for hiking. Five spacious guest bedrooms have private bathrooms, gas fireplaces, high ceilings, air conditioning and cotton linens. The guest living room and adjoining library have a baby grand piano and a selection of books and boardgames. The new Private Guest Entrance and Gathering Room for small functions have been completed. All rooms and guest areas are equipped with wireless internet and flatscreen wall-mounted TVs with DVDs. A unique selection of family antiques includes memorabilia from Johns great-grandfather, a whaling captain. Enjoy a delicious gourmet breakfast and Junes freshly made cookies and hot or iced tea. Arrange for a massage during your stay. We will happily arrange to pick up boaters or bikers - the Mohawk River bike trail bikeway at Auriesville is 5 miles and the boat dock at Riverlink Park is 5 miles. Saratoga and Cooperstown are a 40 minute drive. Bridal and baby showers accommodated. Check-in is at 3 00 PM. Guests planning to arrive before or after this time must contact the property at least 48 hours prior to arrival to receive special check-in instructions.
