The second building, located on the hilltop, is The Stable, remodeled into five guest rooms. In the winter, the area beyond The Stable has become a favorite spot for cross-country skiers. Walking around the grounds as well as the 47 miles of inter-connecting trail system is a great way to exercise and unwind any time of the year. Or, launch your canoe or tube from our on-grounds Winnebago River access point. The Riverview Family Restaurant at the Lodge offers menu service 8AM - 8PM Mon.-Sat. and Brunch Buffet on Sundays, 10AM - 2PM. Or, enjoy our complimentary continental breakfaast offered daily from 6AM to 8 AM. We also cater parties, receptions and special events in our party room.The Lodge of Forest City is readily accessible by auto, camper, and private plane. We are located just 15 miles west of Interstate 35. A commuter commercial airport is located just 35 miles from Forest City, while private planes can use the local airport with its 5,800 ft. runway and non-directional radio beacon. Check-in is at 3 00 PM. Guests planning to arrive before or after this time must contact the property at least 48 hours prior to arrival to receive special check-in instructions.
