Many of the rooms have their own fireplace, private terrace, and/or in-room Jacuzzi. Alcazar Palm Springs guests can choose between two groupings of rooms - POOLSIDE ROOMS nestled around the chlorine-free saline swimming pool and Jacuzzi, and the SAN JACINTO ROOMS, featuring breathtaking views of the towering adjacent mountains. Either way, guests can find true relaxation in The Trees serene inner courtyard, complimented by lush landscaping, colorful inlaid stone tables, trickling fountains, cooling misters, soft music, comfortable loungers, and giant canvas umbrellas. The Alcazar Palm Springs was originally built in the 1950s on the grounds of a former clinic owned by Dr. Pepper not the same as the soft drink. Today - the only remains of the original hotel are the fireplace and old wooden beams in Room 37 - the One Bedroom Suite. You can see the rock chimney from the pool. A large pepper tree, from which the hotel got its name, stood for many years in the west courtyard area where the fountain is now. By the late 1990s, the hotel had fallen into disrepair. It was essentially demolished in 2000, reopening in 2003 in its present form.
