Location Description

Arnold is a small town located in the Stanislaus National Forest. The full time population is somewhere around 8000. The elevation is 4250 feet. At this level you can enjoy snow at times in the Winter pleasant days in the Spring and Fall and warm temperatures in the Summer. Originally a place for logging and summertime cattle ranching/ it is now a resort and retirement community. Calaveras County/ in the past few years/ has also become known for its wineries.
