On leaving Carcassonne, it hardly takes 10 minutes to find yourself in the pastoral sweets of the "Château de Floure". Started life as a Roman Villa on the Via Aquitania between Narbonne and Toulouse. In the Middle Age became a monastery. Ten centuries after, and during the reign of Henri IV, a president of parliament of Toulouse made his country retreat. The contemporary writer Gaston Bonheur lived there. The original character of this magical site was preserved when it was restored and converted with many refinements.
