The only 5 star deluxe hotel in Kerala, The Taj Malabar is located on the tip of Willingdon Island and commands a magnificent view of the backwaters. It was built in the 1930`s as a hotel for the disembarking passengers of Bibby line. The Taj Malabar has 2 wings the tower wing (rooms and suites overlooking the habour and the sea) and the heritage wing ( old world rooms with wooden flooring). The hotel has been upgraded to meet the needs of the modern business traveller,a state of the art business centre,internet connectivity in the rooms. Taj Malabar has an activity centre,a health spa (to open in September 2001 which will includ3ed a beauty parlour,N Ayurveda Centre,a gym,stream and jacuzzi) the Aquarius the infinity swimming pool cascading into the backwaters, a gift shop. The room facilities included CCTV,internet and email facilities,tea/coffee maker,fruit basket in room,shower cubicle and el-safe in Heritage wing, herbal toiletteries,mini bar,large work desk,24 hour hot and cold water. Pick up from Varkala Station. Buffet breakfast and a Resort credit ( which can be used for all facilities such as F and B, Spa and other activities at the hotel except transportation ) of USD 30 on double occupancy per stay, USD 15 on single occupancy per stay, USD 15 for extra adult above 12 years per stay. A backwater cruise at Kappil Beack. Use of swimming pool, gym, library, table tennis and activity centre. Current taxes. Stay for two children under the age of 12 years in the parents room with maximum one extra bed at no additional charge. ( room only ) Extra adult rate is inclusive of bed and breakfast only.

Dolphin`s Point an open air seasonal eatery serving barbequed delicacies cooked to your taste. Open on Fridays,Saturdays and Sundays. Mattancherry the lobby lounge bar set in a colonial ambience.
