Within the sight of the Arc de Triomphe, near the Champs Elysees Avenue and the elegant Foch Avenue, the Raphael Hotel is a blend of opulence and discretion. Step through the front door of the Hotel (built in 1925) and you feel as you have entered a private club. Warm walnut paneling and generous sitting areas line the wide gallery hung with art as a real Turner painting and carpeted with Oriental rugs. Roccoco describes the ambiance of the high-ceilinged guest rooms furnished with regence, Louis XV, Louis XVI, Empire and Directoire antiques. Yet they are toughgully appointed with satellite television and pay television, high speed internet access, WI-FI access, direct dial telephone with voice mail and modem port and most of them connect one to the other. The bathrooms, floaded with natural daylight, are beautifully decorated with painted tiles or mosaics. The suites are equipped with multijets massage shower. The guests may relax in the Fitness Room (free access). Roof dining with panoramic views of Paris in Summer and a Cosy Restaurant "le 17" offering a light and French Cuisine, opened daily from breakfast to dinner. The Bar Anglais Fitted out in dark-red velvet and wood-panelling, the Bar Anglais owes its excellent reputation both to its famous clientele and its word of mouth recommendations. The elegant room, decorated in turquoise and gold-leaf, has a maximum capacity of 20 people. The Tauber Lounge is easily adapted to suit events ranging from receptions to conferences and business meetings.
